DESCRIPTION:This remote\, RN instructor-led course includes information required to be taught annually by an RN to direct care workers\, according to Maine regulations governing the licensing and functioning of assisted housing programs\, including: \n\nDietary requirements\nAnti-Diabetic Oral medications – inclusive of adverse reactions and interventions\, hyper and hypo glycemic reactions\nInsulin storage\nInsulin injection techniques and site rotation (video demonstration)\nTreatment and prevention of insulin reaction including signs/symptoms\nFoot care\nLab testing\, urine testing and blood glucose monitoring\, and\nStandard Precautions\n\nThis course includes diabetes information for direct care professionals and must be combined with a CRMA certificate if the individual will be administering insulin.
