Coronavirus update

We know you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and how it may impact you or your family members. Ensuring residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our top priority. As the situation in Maine and elsewhere evolves, New Communities, Inc. continues to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter and spread in our facilities.

Currently this includes requirements for all employees to receive at least one complete series of COVID-19 vaccinations, wear facemasks while at work, and exercise proper hand sanitizing guidelines. If an outbreak occurs, additional precautions are implemented including isolating residents who have tested positive, enhanced PPE requirements, and testing of residents and employees.

Guidelines for Visits

Visitors and employees are asked to enter through a single checkpoint, take their temperature, and complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire. Please review the questions carefully and do not enter the facility if prompted through the screening process. We recommend that all visitors wear a facemask for their own safety as well as that of residents. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and have not had a negative test in the past two days, please do not enter any of our facilities until symptoms resolve or you have had a negative test result.

Thank you for helping us lower the risk of COVID exposure for our New Communities residents and employees. If you have any questions about our coronavirus response, please contact us here.
