Training Policies and Requirements

Course Requirements

In order to successfully complete the course, students must attend all scheduled classes and complete all course requirements. Students who fail an exam will be asked to repeat the entire class. Students must be 18 years of age or over. Please notify the training department in advance if a student has any special needs.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

In order to receive a refund, you must provide notice of cancellation at least two days prior to the start of the course.

Student Certificate Policy

It is New Communities’ policy to retain student certificates for three (3) years after the conclusion of a course.

CRMA 5-day and CRMA Recertification certificates can be downloaded and printed from the state’s website at: https://gateway.maine.gov/dhhs-apps/assisted/certificate.asp

Late or Unable To Attend

All courses are scheduled to start at the times indicated on the confirmation email. If a student is going to be late or is unable to attend the training, please notify us before class begins. If a student misses a substantial amount of course time due to tardiness, they may fail the course. We are unable to refund the course fee if a student fails or does not attend.

Early Release

There may be times due to class size, student participation, and training requirements when students may be released earlier than indicated on the confirmation email. It is the responsibility of the student to notify their employer of any changes to the class schedule.

Storm Cancellations

Weather related cancellations are posted on our website at www.newcommunitiesinc.org. A recorded message announcing weather related cancellations is also available the day of class after 6:15 a.m. by calling 207-591-0751 x117.

Once you have turned left onto Parkwood Drive, park in the lot to your immediate left. If you park in the lot next to the MCD building, you will be asked to move your vehicle
Walk around the corner to the MCD building and enter using the lower walkway.
Signs will direct you to the training center.

Biddeford Training Center

The Biddeford Training Center is a small tan house located halfway down Amherst Street.
There is a sign on the front of the house (Biddeford Training Center).
The training center has a long driveway where you may park.
If the driveway is full, please park on the street.

Norway Training Center

The Norway Training Center is across from Charlie’s Entertainment Center.
The building was once an old fire station and still resembles one.
2 hour parking is available on Main Street and additional parking is available behind WOXO Radio Station. If you park in the WOXO radio station parking lot, please only use the spaces that are located to the far right of the parking lot.

The Skowhegan Training Center is located beside Carriage House Apartments which are a brick building with white pillars in the front.
The Skowhegan Training Center is located to the left of the Carriage House Apartments and looks like a garage that has been turned into a building. This is the building you are looking at when you drive up the driveway.
If you cannot find a place to park, you can park at the church and walk up, it is close.

Registration and Payment

Payment in full is due prior to the start of class. Payment can be made by check, money order or by credit card. These payment options are available with online or print registrations.

Online Registration
If you choose to pay by check while registering online, the confirmation email will include instructions for making a payment. In the event that you need the confirmation email retransmitted to you, please send an email to nciregistration@newcomms.org with your name, email address, and the date you originally registered.

Print Registration
Students may register by mail or fax by submitting a print Registration Form. Click here to download a print Registration Form, or call Sharon Wyman at (207) 591-0751 x117 to receive one by mail or fax.
